Someone told me this is a known issue, but to post it since it apparently hasn't been resolved. I'm not getting the instant email notifications for posts when I select it.

Also the forum search isn't working for me.

Thanks,  Gad

The email notification is a known problem that we'll revisit.

As far as the search function goes, this is the first report we've had. Can you please try the function again and let us know if it works now? Please also let us know when the search function fails. Does it not search at all, or does it search and not return any items?

Thanks,

F.M.

I was able to search after trying later in the day but they took about 2-3 minutes to comlete.

The instant email notification is an extremely important tool in that people tend to spend more time on the forum when they know people are replying to their post.  And it makes it much easier to go directly to topics they are involved in without having to browse through the other forums and post looking for them.

Of course I don't need to tell you more people on the forum means more clicks an the add banners which will make things much more worth while for the fishchannel and everyone else involved, but just in case your new at this.

Also, could someone move this to the technical issues forum?

I have also had this frustration with the notices. I haven't gotten a single one about the forums. I have however received notices when people post on the blogs, but not here at the forums.

I would like to spend more time here but without the email notifications I find my self on many of the other aquarium related sites.

It's so uch more convenient to have an email let you know when someone responds.  Other than that I skim the new post then leave.  See ya!
