| Has any one used this kit before?
I recently bought one of these but I don't think the diffuser is working correctly. Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

| Yes, i just purchased the same brand last week. Set it up on my 46gallon bowfront on Friday. All seems to be working as designed. I have been checking the PH daily to make sure it doesnt fall to far and affect my fish. The tank has Platys and Guppys. So far the Ph has remained at 6.6. I put some ph booster in the tank today to get it up to aleast 7.0 I have a 36 gallon bowfront that i fixed a DIY CO2 set-up on Saturday. I purchased a $10 submersible pump and hooked the co2 to it and it seems to be working just as good, and I saved $28. Out of 9 tanks that i have they are the only two with live plants and i want them to do well, so i am experimenting with the CO2, but being extra cautious not to endanger the fish.

Don't use the pH booster. It causes the pH to be unstable, especially when you are also injecting CO2 and it is simultaneously lowering the pH. It is better to run the CO2 24/7 and just let it keep the pH where it falls. What is your pH normally?

I leave my Co2 running all the time. So far so good, but I have only been injecting CO2 now for a month or so. I have this redsea kit and I am not happy with it. The diffuser does not seem to be working correctly I have to keep burping it to get the pump going every once and a while. I think I'm going back to the ladder It may not dissolve CO2 as efficient but at least it's reliable.

| Thanks Hailey for the info, saw other comments about that after i had already put it in. Checked the PH today and it is still the same. Around 6.6, doesnt seem to have changed. It is a 46 gallon, and full of Platys and Guppies and all seem to be doing well. After reading someone else say that it is not best to use chemicals to alter the PH, i think i will leave well enough along and just let it adjust its self.

| I'm thinking of going pressurized. I am going to setting up two more tanks all planted and I want to supply CO2 to all of the tanks with a central system. I think I'm going to try to build one of these. http://www.rexgrigg.com/diy-reactor.htm

I'm probably going to do that too when I finally have my fishroom.

| The Red Sea "yeast reactor" kit is what I initially had on the 20 gallon planted tank that I have been updating in the plants forum here. It worked fine for me, although I ended up not using the little pump and just letting the CO2 bubble into the tank directly. I've been running the tank for a month or so without any CO2 and without any filtration. Pic enclosed.
