I was tending to my S/W tank this morning and was jolted by voltage. A pump in my fuge is the suspect (it has been slowing down in flow). After i killed power to the whole tank i still feel a tingle when i touch the water. Do i just wait until it disapates? how long will it hold power? Must i ground it out? All the fish seem fine at the moment.
Thanx for any advice.

Yikes! I have no idea what to say...I'm not really familiar with this sort of thing. I just wanted to wish you well and tell you to stay away from the tank until you know what to do...your health is more important than the tank.

| It was the fuge light on a seperate circiut, even when turned off there was still power to the switch located right over the fuge.

I have heard that can happen. Salt is quite a conductor, which is what makes salt water all the more dangerous when there is stray voltage. Does that mean the problem is gone and the water is no longer electrified? Even if you're pretty sure I wouldn't touch the water without rubber soled shoes on for a while.

I replaced the light with another fixture (standerd 14watt flo) and there is no trace of voltage.
The old fixture had the switch connected through the steel reflector then two wire nuts that went to the sockets, it was on ancient twin incandescent fixture that i used to ------in two 10watt mini power compacts in.
