I thought the set up used an airstone but when I received the shipment I noticed it's not like others I've seen. The airline from the pump gets plugged into the center of the sponge and then the tube also plugs into the sponge. Also the outer tube is too skinny to fit an airstone in it. I do have valves and currently I have one pump for two tanks I used a T to split the two. I might just put the betta tank btwn the other 2 and use a 3rd airline to distribute the bubbles out.

Anymore ideas are welcome as well

RE: Sponge filters

Too many large air bubbles popping on the surface...

reduce air.
Shorten the main tube by a small amount (maybe)
use a stone to make smaller bubbles.
use a cover over the tank to deaden the sound.

RE: Sponge filters

Do you have an air valve on the line?

Sponge filters

So I have 2 sponge filters in my betta tanks. The tanks are only like 10"s high so the tube is a bit below the water level. They sound like a cauldron or a mad scientists lab, blop bubble blop you get the point Anyway I have a 2.5 gallon in my room currently empty. I have a betta I want to rehome because I've found he's harassing my poor cories and nipping them What a bully argghh. Punishment is smaller tank, but at least it will be his own

Anyway it's in our bedroom so I need to know how to silence it or how I could rig it somehow I bought some sponge thingies that have larger hole's but I haven't figured a way to stuff them in with out blocking too much of the air
