That's a healthy reaction, and if you do anything you might move the whole rock to a different spot to see if it likes that better. In my experience it will probly just take time to adjust and then it will take care of the ,oving to a better spot for you.

RE: anenome problem

Most of the time an anemone will move to where it is most comfortable to move it away will lead to major stress and will eventually cause its demise. I would leave it move to where it will move to, it just might end up going to where you want it in the first place.

RE: anenome problem

Derf (1/20/2011)
i have an anenome that has almost completely pulled itself into my rock. i moved it from one house to another and into a new tank.water quality is fine and salinity is good.it is under new lights but i figured it would move if it didnt like where i put it(in the same part of the tank).it has eatn but keeps pulling itself back into the rock.

if it looks healthy, i think you should leave it. moving it will only stress it out and anemones are very delicate.

anenome problem

i have an anenome that has almost completely pulled itself into my rock. i moved it from one house to another and into a new tank.water quality is fine and salinity is good.it is under new lights but i figured it would move if it didnt like where i put it(in the same part of the tank).it has eatn but keeps pulling itself back into the rock.
