Lost my Male German blue 2 days ago. They where a great pair. Ive had them both in a 55 for 3 1/2 years.

Now she isnt eating.

Pacific In Memory

I know I sound like an awful fish keeper, but I lost Pacific yesterday to dropsy. He'd been fighting it, since last Tues. I separated him from Zoomer immediately, put him in a 1 gal. tank beside the "home" tank, with some rocks. I added dropsy meds ever since, every day. Fed him when he wanted to. I also put in a bubbler. But, he's almost two years old or older, but I was pretty sad. It was fast, not dragging out painfully. Zoomer seems to have escaped it, I put meds in his tank just make sure, since he's been with Pacific for awhile. Another fish gone! I feel awful. First Duster, then Pacific. Duster's death is still a mystery. Thanks for listening you guys.

DEATH OF "BLUE LOBSTER"

found my sons 4 1/2 yr old blue lobster dead on fri. the 14th.went out and got him another one the next day but this one turned out to be a girl loaded with eggs so i ran to the store and got a bunch of plastic cups ended up with 100 babies.waited 2 days and changed water and added food lost 4 so now we have 96 babies to grow out.my LFS said they would give me $15 for each i can bring back cause they get $24.99 for each so we will see what happens!!!!!

Hey everyone. Last night I found Duster dead. His heart burst or something, he was bleeding internally. I removed him, and will bury him in the spring. Don't laugh, but I bury my fish. I can't make myself throw them in the garbage. The other fish seem fine, but I'll be keeping an eye on them, just in case. Just wanted to let you know a special little guy is gone.

I accidentally bought a pregnant platy ( I think it was salt and pepper) and noticed a gravid spot. I thought it probably wasn't for real. She started flipping around the tank one night and died. She was put in a plastic bag. Fry came out in the bag. I'm sorry I let you down Spice. R.I.P.

We went away and the person caring for my fish didn't place the cover on my betta's bowl properly and so the poor thing jumped out and was found dead the next day--all dried out. I wasn't there to rescue him. Fortunately my other bettas are ok, but I still miss the dead one. All I could do was go purchase another one who needed a home.

Confetti - You were so beautiful. I'm sorry I couldn't save your fry. But you don't need fry to carry your legacy. The place you took in my heart is enough.

KJP - You and Mystique would have produced beautiful fry, but you'll never get to do that now. I've failed you, and I'm sorry. But you'll be a tough fish to forget. Every time I think of James - either of them - I'll remember you and smile, because I'll remember the beautiful fish you were.

Faith - I only knew you for a couple of weeks, but in that time you managed to worm your way into my heart and my memories. You held up well against Sunny, too! I've never had another fish do that! You're strong, girl, and I know I'll never forget you.

Omega & Violet - What a pair! Two spawns in two months, and the first will surely make it! Violet, you sure were a feisty girl. I'll remember you best for that. You can dominate any male betta. Remember your last spawn? I do! Omega was swimming for his life! You guarded the empty bubblenest while he hid - in the pot you were supposed to be hiding in. And Omega, don't think for a second that I've forgotten you. I remember the day I saw you, dying in that cup and desperate for a home. I loved you from the minute I saw you, and I will love you forever. You two are the only pair with fry to carry on your legacy, and that's something to be proud of. I just regret never introducing you to your fry. But in awhile (a looong while, hopefully), you and those fry will be reunited in betta paradise. I'll never forget you two!

Peace - I've known you for less than two weeks, and yet you have stolen a piece of my heart. Your name was perfect for you, so loving, kind, and gentle. I'm sorry I couldn't save your fry. I wish there was something else I could have done, but I just didn't know what I was doing. I'm so, so sorry, Peace. But you'll always be in my heart and in my memories. I'm so sorry I cut your lives short. I wish I knew what happened. Please forgive me. But your lives were not wasted! You each taught me something new, something that without you I may never have learned. I can't thank you enough for that. I just bought a new fish yesterday. Her name was "Aphrodite" and she was a female veiltale betta with a purple body, red accents on her fins, black, and blue on her fins. She also had 3 horizontal lines on her body.She was doing well when I brought her home. The next morning, of course, I had to check on all of my fish. I couldn't find her so I started freaking out! I thought that she might have swam inside the holes of my fake driftwood piece, but later I found her on the INSIDE of my moss ball...how did she even manage to get in there??? My best guess is that she died from stress trying to escape the moss ball. She was an adorable fish with a great personality for the short time I had her...

YURI the All-White All-Star Common Goldfish

The brightest star of my pond, Yuri, passed unexpectedly. She was about five years old, 4 1/2" long SL, solid eggshell white. I had always assumed she was a female, with such a delicate ladylike carriage, but you never know. Her name means Lily in Japanese, her full name was Shiroi Yuri. Although they don't "school," anyone who's had goldfish knows they're highly social, nudging each other playfully. I think her 5 pond mates know she's gone ...

I had this really pretty male vieltale betta named Aquarius...he just died the other day and it was really sad!!!!! He had a white body, purple and pink fins, and his head had some tan and black on it. He was 4 years old when he died...I think he died of old age because he never got sick and didn't have any disease when he died...I'll miss him

I miss you so much Tangi!!! He was one special betta, orange, with white tips on his tail and a pinky back. He died of clamped fin, and just minutes before he died in his favorite plant, he snuggled in my hand when I put my hand in to move him. But he never liked hands. But this time he just wriggled in and slept. I cried so hard when he was gone!
I have a memory page of him. I am trying to get SOTW for him. Then all my other profiles. Anyone is welcome to my blogs!

Yesterday I came home from school to feed my fish and my betta was floating at the top all discolord and well dead. It was a shock to me as she was doing so well. I was even teaching her to jump for her food and she did jump and get her flake every feeding. I named her Newt-ete because my friend has a Male betta named Newt and She looked exactly like him. I wonder how she did die though.... I guess she did Have a better life then living in a bowl in somones room....

This past weekend I had a major upset with my tank. Saturday night I fed my fish, watched them eat. Waited till the lights switched over to moon phase then went upon my way. Next morning when I went down to check on the fish. I was looking at all my fish at the top of my tank gasping for air saw only three that were still upright barely breathing. After getting air onto the tank I found that the controler did not turn the co2 reactor off and depleted the nights oxygen. NOT VERY HAPPY!

Well, hasnt been the best 4 weeks of fish keeping for me and sad to say that I lost my first fish to get and call my own (besides bettas) Mr.Blubs. Had him for a long time and just found him dead in his tank today after school. He had a pretty good life thoe I suppose, Got to go to a pond every summer then a nice room temp aquarium in the fall and winter. But sad to say he is gone When I first got him he was about 4'' so tiny compared to the size he is now. And everbody talked about him because of his bloating issues always saying Mr.Blubs is dead again. Huh.... R.I.P

This is when the pond bottom flipped up so had to put him in a small bowl with the rest of the fish. First year we got him and he grew alot.

Little Pizza died today. He lived for 2 years and 10 months. He was supposed to die a long time ago but he just kept on living. They said he had swim bladder disease and that he would die within a couple of days but he didn't. We figured it must have been a neurological problem. But today he was really bad off so we said our good byes and we put him to sleep.

Rest in peace my little Pizza. This post is dedicated specially to you.

My Plecostomus Died!

Yesterday my tank smelt kinda funny so i thought one of.my.snails died.but they were sll kicking counted my fish all fine. All thoe didnt see the pleco.because he is.usually out of sight. This morning i went down stairs to feed my fish and then i spotted the rotting body of my pleco being eaten by my cory! I took him out and there was no skin just flesh and bones! I flushed him but he sure stunk up the place. Had to.spray frebreeze. It sucks thoe he was a tank original had him for a year and a monthn R.I.P

The only one that survived was my banjo catfish, Banjo. They are surface breaters. I bought a betta yesterday, knowing they can be surface breathers too.

Any suggestions about what to do in the future should the power fail.

Missing some 9 other fish like guppies and zebras, etc.

i am doing a fishless cycle in 30 gal tank and have read about how to do this here but my problem is i bought ammonia at the store and started using it two weeks ago and have now realized it has additivies in it bought some without additives. now what to do about the ammonia i have used any ideas if i have to do large water change or be all right to continue with cycle and use the right ammonia. nitrites are coming down and nitrates are going up.

I got 4 new giant koi yesterday and two of them jumped out of the pond. One was dead and the other was barely alive. I rushed him into a hospital tank in the house with lots of oxygen and he got better then all of a sudden just stopped breathing. He is still currently on life support but, i think he is gone. Im so sad. These koi were well over 10 years old and i lost them in one night.

Unfortunately, due to a recent change in y health and having to go be hospialized, upon returning home, discovered them both dead on the bottom of the take, they were wonderfully colored Discus and I;ll surly will miss them.

Sniffy, my little angel

I lost my little Sniffy. Why sniffy? He was one of the "firsts." When I first started fish keeping, i got a ten gallon tank, and three small goldfish. They were called Sniffy, Biffy, and Booger. I was about four when I named them. Booger died of a air bladder problem, and Biffy died naturally. Then, it came to Sniffy. I got him at least 10 more small goldfish over seven years. Then, he started not doing so well, he would barely move and i was ten when i finally had to flush. I know that wasn't the best idea, but it was all i could stand. I didn't want to leave him out of water in a net for long, so i put him in a bucket and lowered him in the toilet. Still, i miss him. He was my little trooper!

My Goldfish, Muddy, died this afternoon. . He looked like a typical orange goldfish only he had alot of black on his stomach which made him look like he had been rolling around in the mud, so that's what I named him. May he rest in peace :'(

at around 1 am this morning, my little Achmed Died. :'(. He was a calico shubunkin. It was so sad. I came home from my dad's house, watched a movie, then I noticed he was laying at the bottom, then not long after that he died. . this morning he was floating at the top and my other fish, Jalapeno, was right next to him like he was wondering what happened to his friend. He always seems upset when one of my fish dies. Originally when I first got the tank I got him and another fish named Chedder. They were so attached to each other it was so cute. They would not leave eachother's side, then when they got more used to the tank one would swim to one side then the other would soon follow, then sometimes one would turn to quickly and they'd bump heads. When Chedder died, he was so sad, he just layed by him as he died then when I scooped out Chedder, he went and hid in his hiding place like he was upset. Does anyone else have a fish that does this?

Yesterday I was awoken by the wife (I am working nights) to say Zippy, one of our two goldfish had died. He joined us on 2nd November, and has been a great little family member. It broke my heart seeing him in the tank, motionless .

We live in a flat, and we both agreed its a no to flushing or bin job, so I rang my parents and we buried him in a small jewelery box with "Zippy 2/11/11 - 18/12/11" on the lid. We even had a headstone made from lollypop sticks. Call us silly if you must.

I will be honest, and I will say, this 27 year old male shed a few tears over the matter a few times during the day. I think it was because I saw him at 7am full of life, to be woken at 11:30am to see him dead. He did have a fungal infection for about 2 weeks when we first got him (about a week after purchase). Other than that he always ate well, and seemed happy enough. Hiding in his little pot, waving his tail and fins like an excited child when he was going to be fed. I have no idea why he died, and to a certain degree I do not want to. I would feel awful if it was something we did wrong. All I hope is that he had a good life with us and that he did not suffer at the end.

He may have only been with us for 6 weeks, but he was a member of our family being the first pet me and my wife have owned together.

A couple days ago I decided to get some new fish for my ten gallon. At the time it only had a guppy and a balloon-bellied molly. I heard a dwarf gourami was a good choice and I thought some schooling fish would make a nice touch so I got 3 neon tetras. but the next day I woke up to a dead guppy with ripped finnage and a neon tetra with its head bit off and eaten. So I ended up taking the half eaten neon tetra body and my cannibalistic dwarf gourami back to the pet store. The owner was surprised that a dwarf gourami did this so he took back the gourami and gave me 2 neon tetras, a guppy and another balloon-bellied molly. He figured the dwarf gourami felt crowded and insecure wiht all those little, fast-swimming fish. So now I have a grand total of 4 neon tetras, 2 balloon-bellied mollies and a guppy living peacefully together. I may get one more guppy later just to pair off my loner guppy. And my anubias plant has bite marks in it reminding me of my mistake.

My very beautfull red betta died sometime today. came home from work and he was gone he was bright red with real long fins that wear silver in color. Darn dont know what happen water was always good and clean.

I have this one particular fish tank, and it all started with an under water frog. Well it died, and I cleaned out the fish tank really good. Ever since then, anything I have ever put in that fish tank died 3 fry guppies, 4 tadpoles, 2 mollies and now a hermit crab. Any suggestions?
