I picked up the fisrt(english) one when it came out.It is a bi-monthly msg,6 issues a yr.After the first yr I signed for a subscription. It is a well writeh mag and the photos are top notch to say the least. It has been around for a while,but only in german. It is a freshwater only mag, and has sister mag called coral that is satwater only. I have not had an issue that was not worth every peney I paid for it. If you read this mag post your veiws for us.

I found an email in my spam folder this morning, which claimed to be from "James Croxten". in the subject was: Re: http://granddestination.org/www.foxnews.com.happytime.present3.php
I have been researching computer viruses and spam, etc. fer the past few days, so at least I had an idea of what this was. But can anyone give me other info? And BTW, Granddestination.org is an unsafe site. I have checked. I figure this may be a hack attempt. Not sure how "James" got my email, either. Any insight is appreciated.

Made 2 bulletproof pleco caves

I just made 2 bulletproof pleco caves for a friend of mine and one for my self. My friend had picked up a piece of this stuff a few months back. He asked me if I could make a pleco cave out of it. I was not sure if I would be able to cut this stuff in the first place. After alot of research and talking to alot of friends. I was able to make 2 of them. So now we have these big bad plecos caves for a certain type of plecos we are keeping. Just in case the plecos have a shoot out with each other over who gets to live in the new cave.

One thing I must tell everyone. Do not cut this stuff if your wife or girlfriend likes a clean home. This stuff sticks to you and everything around you like glue.

Aquarium Scuba Diving

I thought it might be interesting to see who has had a chance to scuba dive in public aquariums. I thoroughly enjoyed the South Carolina Aquarium's Great Ocean Tank and Walt Disney World's Epcot Divequest. Both venues are fantastic.

here's how it works: someone starts off with a word. lets say the word is "the".

the idea of the game is to make the most random sentence as you can, but having it still make sence.

Local Fish Club

I grew up in northern Illinois. Moved to Colorado at the beginning of 2010 chasing work. Unfortunately thing haven't worked out all that well over the past year and a half, so I will be moving back to Illinois. While I was here in Colorado I was able to go to a local fish club and see what kind of activities they have and how thing were run. It gave me some good ideas for when I move back to Illinois. I have been looking for clubs in Illinois but there are only 1 or 2 Reef only clubs that are within reasonable distance (not having to drive half a day to go to a general meeting). So I am thinking about starting one up. The thing is I really don't know how to start. My Father has a stables with parking and a place to meet, so I figure I could convince him to let me start the first meetings there. As far as club structure, I am not sure if I should start with one, or kind of advertise a meeting first and see what kind of turnout I might have. Any prior experience or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For those of you who might be interested, this would be an General fish club meaning it would be for anyone who keeps ornamental fish (fresh water, planted, salt water, reef). The club would be based in the McHenry County, IL area. Send me a message if you might be interested. It would be great to know if you are interested.

A Brief Apology

To all my Fish Channel friends, I write you today just to offer up a brief apology for having not been on line more often, and I no doubt am sure you understand as to way.

It seems that my cancer decided to go to stage 4, and in addition cause a major pain situation requiring my presence in Loma Linda Hospital for 9 days just to get the pain under control.

Things seem to be much better for the moment, and I am grateful for any prayers that were sent my way. I will be getting on a little more often soon. but if you don't see me on every once in awhile, it be due to being ill from chemo.

And guys thanks again for being out here.

thinking of starting a fish and plant rescue

just wondering if anyone is running a fish and or plant rescue. Also wondering any info anyone might have as far as existing rescues in the Canadian great lakes area. I've taken in several unwanted fish through out the years because they got to big or the people just got bored with them. These transactions have always been through word of mouth only and to date i've probably fostered about 100 or so fish. I know enough people in the hobby that I can usually have the fish quarantined or treated as the case may be and back out to responsible fish keepers in a couple of weeks. Call me crazy but I think I might want to start advertising to stop people from flushing there unwanted fish and plants. To many times i've heard stories of people fishing and catching a pacu or some other alien species of fish and i've seen first hand lake inlets that are full of cabomba that I know is'nt naturally occurring. I think it might be time for me to do something about at least some of this problem. Any info and personal experiences running a rescue would be appreciated. Thank you

I placed an order for 4 discus from Rainforest Farms yesterday.They will be shipped today to arive tomorrow. They have a sale(ends tomorrow) of 20% off all fish. The fish and shipping from US to Canada ggarentied live delivery was $254.00. This will bring my total discus count in my 65g at 8 discus. I ordered 1 red snakeskin,1 super red melon,1 green scorpion F2 and one cerulian reflection. The cerulian is on of their own strains,it is like a blue diamond but the blue is a more royal blue and the fish has paterning like a snakeskin.........I'm so excited as I have been looking around my area and have found the selection slim to say the least. I have been thinking of ordering the discus for over a yr now but everytime I decided to do so my car broke down,so no discus. I had a $500.00+ lottery win so I bought ne glasses and my discus. I know there has been someone on here who ordered discus from RFI so My turn

Hey Steven Noble, and the rest of the gang. Just wanted to get on here and apologize for not having been on sooner, but it seems my cancer decided to go to stage 4, and has now spread not just in my right lung, but to my lower and middle portion of my spine. Causing extreme pain, and has made it with me having to be hospitalized for pain management. It now seems to be under control for the time being, so I hope to be chatting again with everyone soon.
