I had to make a cover for this 2.5g tank because the crab cralled out of the tank and wandered out into the grage for almost a whole day. I got her from a store that kept her in a freshwater tank so im working on getting her back up to brackish. I am feeding some invert food and am wondering what else i can feed, feeder fish maybe. And can i keep any other things like hermit crabs with them?

What Brackish fish do you keep?

Mine right now are 8 archers 2 dragon gobies and 2 green spotted puffers. Once all of the obvious food has been eaten and everyone is picking around for left-overs, he chases the Archers relentlessly. There is no fin nipping. This goes on for about 4 to 5 minutes, then everything is fine. He doesn't bother with the Mono at all. Is this behavior likely to worsen? I can put up with simple chasing, but hate to see my fish injured by their tankmates.

Just got 3 Green scats any tips for me?

so today at work the fish shipment came in and there were 5 green scats i got 2 for free and bought 1 i need some tips on these guys as i have never owned them but pretty happy they make perfect additions in my 110 brackish along with my archers green spotted puffers dragon goby's etc. lol my puffers and them look the same in coloration which i find funny.

Archer Fish behavior.

mine are rather different i keep 8 in my 110 gallon with a good variety.
Some things my Archers do is eat food off the bottom apparently they ignore any food that falls onto the bottom not mine!!
They copy any fish in the aquarium they study what they do what they eat etc and copy that.
Never any aggression among the group!
Never shy always gets excited to see anyone enter the room.
Tend to eat my plants sometimes. :S
Babied the smaller ones when i put them in i thought i might have had to split them up for awhile.
I can't think of all the others right now but i have found that these fish are very smart!.

Beginner brackish fish

Okay so, we have brackish forum! But to business I've been looking up brackishwater aquarium setups and quality information is sparse. So at some point I hope to setup a brackish water setup. My question is what is the "easiest" brackish fish to keep. I know they require tip top water conditions but what would be interesting and capanle of taking the worst of my accidents. What is the smallest sane brackishwater aquarium. So on and so forth. I know the basics so you can get a little technical.

Does anyone keep brackish fish?

I'm just curious how many of you out there keep brackish tanks. It had yellow circles on it and was only about an inch long. I would like to set up a brackish water tank for him but everything I read says that they need at least a 20g tank. I have 2-10g tanks that are waiting for inhabitants. Can I put a puffer fish and plants in a 10g? And any suggestions on what (if any) other fish I could put in there with him. He says he wants to get involved with my hobby so I want to encourage him in any way I can.

Molly problems

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with a problem that started tonight. I have two male golden mollies in my 40 gal planted, and they have done great for the past 5 months that I have had them. Every once in a while I have noticed one of them get a little upset with the other, but with all the plants and places to go it quickly defuses. Tonight as I walked by I noticed the small one really chasing the larger and as I watched I noticed he had gotten beaten up. I quickly took out the poor guy and placed him in a one gallon and let him rest in the dark. My questions are this. Will mollies just snap like this and then return to normal or has the relationship gone south and one of them have to go? Also, most of the damage was done on the Dorsal fin, I also notice a little on the Pectoral. What are the odds of this guy making a full recovery? He is such a good looking molly. Thanks for any help.

Plant for mollies?

Hi,
My friend has a ten gallon with plenty fish in it. It was well established and everything. But his fathers friends wife had a tank set up for a class pet in her class room and something happened and she gave the fish to My friend. He didn't have any other options other than to throw them in his tank, so now its over populated with fish. He asked me if I wanted any so I hurried and threw together a tank for some.

My new molly tank isn't very big, I don't know exactly how many gallons it has but its around 6-7 I am guessing. I know that isn't big enough for mollies, but what another option? I don't have room for any bigger tanks, and the tank my friend has them in is way too over crowded so this will be better than the tank their already in.

I set it up today, I have in this small tank a sponge filter, about an inch of rocks, a bubble stone thing, and about to get some plants. Which is what this will be about.

I need a small-ish plant that does good with mollies. I will be adding the aquarium salt so that the mollies stay healthy. I was wanting a plant for the mollies to play, hide, and maybe eat some of. They dont have to be able to eat it because I have an over grown moss/algae ball that I can rip a piece off of and put in the molly tank for them.

So whats a good plant choice? And also what amount of salt per gallon is best for them? I have heard that 1 teaspoon per 2 gallons was right, but then have also heard 1 table spoon per gallon. But that seems like too much.

Well thanks for the help, and don't start in that the tanks too small, I already know but its better than the other tank they would be in.

I might get some!

Any thoughts?
