So I did a water test to try to determine a cause of death on the green starfish. Here are my results:
Ammonia 0.5 ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 10ppm
None of that seems off the chart bad. I'm not haapy about the ammonia or nitrate, but I wouldn't think that'd be enough to kill him. What do you think?

RE: 13 day old clown fish dying on transfer

Hi there, I found your suggestion very helpful for me. I have a clown fish at my home in a quarantine tank for last two weeks.

RE: 13 day old clown fish dying on transfer

I have to ask you how you aclimate your fish to it's new home? Did you have it in a quarantine tank for a few weeks or did you float the bag in the tank, then dump him in. I suggest you take water out of you display tank and put it in a container large enough to hold him in and add a sponge filter and heater. Then float him in that until the temp equals then slowly add water in to the bag, about 1/2 cup at a time. When you add about three cups you start to remove water the same amount you add. Do that for about 45min to 1 hour then dump the fish in to the container. The water that you remove from the bag is disposed off not put back into the tank or container you will be using for quarantine.

RE: 13 day old clown fish dying on transfer

you probably didnt use the same water in the other tank. you stressed the fry out. better luck next time.

RE: 13 day old clown fish dying on transfer

Can you give more info please.

13 day old clown fish dying on transfer

Do i need to keep the clown fish underwater for a peroid of time or just not put in bigger tank for another week or 2
