That's amazing BTO I'm curious to know how did you breed them? What size tank and what conditions did you have to successfully breed this fish? I just picked one up today and I have to say that this is now my favorite fish. Because of their lifespan and their cost (here anyway) I would love to one day try to breed these fish. My ph is close to yours and the water here is quite hard.

I didn't do anything at all to breed them, they took their own initiative in my normal water conditions - same as many of my tetras. As long as they are truly healthy and happy, most of the commonly available fish will spawn under any conditions... or at least, that has been my experience.
Rams, though, like other cichlids, will have to "like" their partner first. Simply putting one male and one female into a tank may not work; it's usually best to put a group (4+) into a tank and hope a pair develops. The 6 I had ended up making 3 pairs: I think blue rams are a bit mellower in that respect than some other cichlids.

One more question how do you tell the diference between a maile and female?

| The males front dorsal fin rays are much longer than the female's.The dorsal fin of the male also tends to have a pointed shape near the caudal fin, where the female's is more rounded.Females are smaller and have a reddish tinge on their pelvic regions.
