I never seen a tank like this before I really like it. Have these been around long? It would be perfect for a beginner it's shallow and looks easy to maintain. Does anyone have any experience with a tank like this one?

The ZeroEdge is a very cool tank -- I saw them first two years ago at the Backer Trade Show in Chicago. I've talked with Brett Perry, the guy who invented it and is the President of the company, for a recent article I wrote for Pet Product News International -- the BowTie industry monthly magazine. He used to sell coral frags, and he put the original ZeroEdge together to show off his frags -- people were more interested in the aquarium than the frags.

One thing to be aware of -- it is very expensive -- I mean like more than my car is worth -- but there is nothing like it.

I've looked at these too. Very cool but as stated, very expensive. Would make an outstanding lagoon biotope.

So many species, so little money!

Why so expensive? outside of the curved glass what does this aquarium have that demands such a high price tag?

From what I remember from seeing it at the Backer show, I think that what makes it expensive is working out the flows, and the sump/equipment under the tank/cabinet -- and also that it is the only one anything like this. The thing doesn't make any noise, and you really have to look carefully to see that there is even flow. The animals in the tank really just sorta seem to be hanging there -- it is very cool.

Those tanks are very cool!  My main concern would be jumpers, with my luck I'd wake up to 2-3 fish on the floor.  I did read the FAQ's it looks more suited for rock, coral & inverts.  Bottom dwellers may work as well.

You would have to have a dedicated room for this kind of tank, because I can see issues w/ light spread.  I could be wrong, but the lamps, being so high above the tank would flood the room w/ light.

All in all, a very cool tank.  Let me know if the mfg. ever decides to start giving them away.   I'll take a big one!

Remember you did not pick a cheap hobby!

Here here! I'll get in line for that give away!!

I would definately say that these are best suited for a reef than a fish only.

So many species, so little money!
