I have angels in one of my tanks, and they have never bothered the ghost shrimp I put in. Granted, the angels aren't very big, and the ghost shrimp aren't in the tank very long (tire track eel eats them pretty fast), but they have yet to even notice them while they're in the tank.

| Just wanted to note, in my experience only that is, that I think in numbers they would be good in community tanks. I only had 2 which lasted a month and a 1/2 or so. They hid most of the time when they did come out they were very entertaining but it was rare. One of mine was chased by a fish and freaked out (they swim very fast) and went back into the cave. The next morning he was out of the cave on the otherside of the tank in a java moss patch and was dead the other one was by him mourning I think. Then the next day the other one was dead too. Also want to add at time of death ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10. So in conclusion, and this is just my opinion from this experience. I believe them to be social and needing groups to feel comfortable and safe. That being said I'm going to set up a shrimp only tank and when they breed in larger numbers then I might add 10 or so at a time to my platy tank, and hopefully they will fare better also these were red cherry shrimp just fyi

I think there are usually a few shrimp fatalities (fish eat them, they sometimes fail to molt for whatever reason, etc), but when you have a bunch and they breed like rabbits, it's never noticed. It is also possible though that you have heavy metals in your water...they are sensitive to that.
