We hope you like the new forum. This forum is for you to discuss the good, the bad, and the fishy of all fish products. Whether fresh or salt, filters or food, we think this forum will offer you a great place to share your experiences with products and help out fellow aquarists.

Let's try not to turn this into a bash forum, though it is important to let others know if there is a stinky product out there, make sure to let people know of a particular product that has worked well for you, or ask others about a product that you may be considering.

To make this forum easier to navigate, please try to include the name of the product in the Subject/Headline and Description of your topic. If you don't, the moderators may edit to reflect this.

Fritz TurboStart

I was too impatient to properly cycle my new tanks fishless the many weeks it says to wait, so after some research, I splurged on the TurboStart product by Fritz. It has live nitrfying bacteria, so you have to fork over overnight shipping, refrigerate the stuff, and use within 3 months, but I think it saved me weeks of cycling so I could enjoy new fish. Granted, I still started off with a few fish and worked my way up to a fully stocked tank, but I didn't lose a single fish to cycling and it didn't take as long to go through the cycling process. Not that the water didn't have those swings, but they didn't go on for very long or as frequently than if I hadn't used the product.

I posted this somewhere else, but I think it belongs here.
