| Hello all, My 2 Water Hyacinths r reproducing and making daughter plants. These daughter plants now have their own root system. However, they r still attached to the mother plants by a long stem. Can I remove the daughter plants by cutting the stem or is that a bad idea? Their is one daughter plant on the 1st hyacinth and 2 on the second. ANy help is appriciated. THANX!!!

As long as the offset plants have their own root system, and a couple of leaves, you can cut them from the mother plant. Once established, water hyacinths are pretty hard to kill. Have fun!
