Years ago, I kept seahorses. They were wild-caught, and I don't even think they had captive-bred ones back then.

Those seahorses didn't do too well. Has anybody had experience with captive-bred seahorses? What do you feed them? I think mine years ago may have died of malnutrition.

Yeah, I think they're really hard to feed. A friend of mine had some a few years ago, and they died pretty quickly, too.

they need a literally constant supply of food, in the form of copepods and amphipods. they must always be able to find food when they need it and will only accept live copepods, amphipods, and other minute inverts.

Thanks for the replies! It doesn't sound like I can try keeping seahorses again any time soon, but next time (someday) I'll be more prepared.

I hope I'm allowed to do this but there Is another forum out the just for seahorses it is http://seahorse.org it has everything you need to know about the husbandry on horses and the Marine  Fish and Reef 2003 has an excellent read on seahorses, pipefish and seadragons. Also in the 2007 Marine Fish and Reef on how to breed seahorses. Made me want to have horses in my tank when completed.
