Stephen, have you considered growing mangrove bonsai?

>----> I have never done it but it sounds interesting. I might give it a try if I start one from seed. There is a group in my town that creates magnificent Bonsai. Next time I see a member I’ll ask about this.

If you decide to grow a (or many) mangrove bonsai trees, I think it would be very neat, and more suitable for an aquarium with some inhabitants such as mud skippers, fiddler crabs, and some kinds of fish. The actual hobby of Bonsai might be a little more than taking care of any plant, but in my opinion, it's definitley something to try.

>----> That would make a nice display for sure. It might make a beautiful display just as a stand-alone plant in a decorative container. Hummm, I think I will try this. Good idea! SGN

Yeah, you should definitley try it. I'm not too good at it myself, but I can tell you that it might be a little more maintainance, but it will definitley pay off as long as you've done good research, have the things you need, and are willing to maintain a bonsai. Unfortunatley, I can't tell you much about mangrove bonsai. I only have a camelia, a juniper, and a curry tree bonsai.

On the other hand, would you consider mangrove trees to be hard to care for? One day in my life, I'd like to try a naturalistic swamp like setup with mangroves. Probably not any time soon, but some day I'd like to try it out!

Oh, and I just remembered....I have a couple red mangrove seeds my dad found in jamaica a very long time ago. So neatly shaped aren't they? They're shaped just like valentines!
