I have a couple Australian Rainbows and I love them.  I saw some Turquoise Rainbows today and thought they would be a nice add.  Could I add one or two and have them school with the Australians???  Or would I need to buy 3 or more and have 2 schools?

I don;t know too much about rainbows, seem to recolect reading somewhere about crose breeding. I do know the rainbows are gorgious fish,I have a school of 10 neon dwarf rainbows in a 20 gallon tank with a pair of kribs and the rainbows are awsome, lively, colourful and just a pleasure to watch.

I'm not sure about rainbows either, but I've seen them school in display tanks at some of my LFS'S. My various species of tetras do school together occasionally though. I have 6+ of each of the species and they still do it. Others might not school though. I'd get three+ just to be sure. Good luck!

Get a few of them.  I have several of these also and they are nice fish.  Try it and see what happens.

I'm not 100% sure but i think you could. At one point I had a couple of Australians with a few neon dwarf rainbows. At a local petstore they have a big display tank and they have 3-4 different kinds of rainbows in there

The only problems I know of with rainbows interbreeding has been with various local variants of the same species. In my 300 gallon tank I've got schools of 30 or so of red Irian Jaya and turquoise rainbows. They mix with each other in a shoal -- not a real school -- and look very nice.
