| Right now, I'm stuck in my decesion between endler's livebearers or some neat longfin blue zebra danios that my lfs can order. I know these fish are VERY hardy, but I'm confused about the water hardness. Some say that it can be 5-10 DKH, but others say it should be 8-10 DKH. Which is right? Also, iws there any way of converting hardness in ppm to DKH/DH?

To convert ppm to dKH divide by 17.9......
0 to 4 dH.......0 to 70 ppm........very soft
4 to 8 dH.......70 to 125 ppm.....soft
8 to 12 dH.....125 to 200 ppm....medium hard
12 to 18 dH....200 to 300 ppm....hard
18 to 30 dH....300 to 500 ppm....very hard
over 30 dH.....over 500 ppm.......extremely hard
Danios are very hardy and can adapt to a variety of water conditions. Is your water similar to the water at the lfs?

| Thanks for replying! My water has a ph of about 6.8, and a hardness of about 75 ppm. I'm not sure what the pet store's water is like, but I'm going there today to get some plants and get my water tested again. I will ask them about the zebra danios and theri water conditions. Can't wait to get these fish!
