A couple of weeks ago I posted a topic about why my peppered cory was acting funny.  This morning when I got up, I looked in my tank and he was dead.  I think there was something wrong with his/her swim bladder because he often was upside-down.  I did not think much of it because it looked like looking for food under one of my cave or eating algae around my floating plants.  Then, about three or four days ago, I come home from school and he/she was swimming from one end of the tank to the other completely upside-down.  He/she looked alot like my upside-down catfish.  Other symptoms were hanging around at the surface and looking like it was having a hard time breathing.  Are all these symptoms consistent with a swim bladder problem or is it something completely else?  I have had the cory for about 2.5 months and is the only one doing this.  Any information is helpful. Thanks!!!

55 gallon:  6 Cherry Barbs, 5 Diamond Tetra, 1 Pearl Gourami, 1 Bristlenose Pleco, and 1 Upside-Down Catfish.
Planning to add:  12 Cherry Barbs

20 gallon:  7 Multi Shell Dwelling Cichlids

10 gallon:  3 Celestial Pearls Danios (Soon To Be 12) and lots of Cherry Shrimp.

2.5 gallon:  15-20 Yellow Cherry Shrimp and a variety of Snails.

What are the readings of the tank water for pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrates?

What are the readings of the tank water for pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrates?

I just did a test about ten minutes ago and the current readings are:

Ammonia: 0

Nitrites: 0

Nitrates: 10

pH: 8.0

Also, the temperature is 76, hardness is 150 ppm, and the alkalinity is about 180 ppm.  I hope this is enough.  Thanks!

I was thinking about treating the tank for fungus for about a week and then moving the panda cories to my 55 gallon tank until they get bigger.  Is this a good idea or a bad one.  Also, could the panda and peppered cories cross breed.  Thanks!
