whats the best thing to cover the bottom of the cow tank with? sand, gravel or what?

i use gravel in my pond but im sure sand could work too. the sand might get stirred up really easily if you end up getting a filter later though, so keep that in mind.

| It depends on the time of the year/temperature. You've inspired me with the idea of a stock tank as a pond. I'm think ing of something neat myself! I had a question . How much did the 300 gallon stock tank cost? And where did you get it? I want to stock mine with mosquito fish if I do come through with the plan.

| Aquatic Eco-System is who I normally deal with, but any livestock supply or feed store can get them for you. the generally cost about $1.00 per gallon new about a 1/3 of that used Rick

oh, they are cheap! you just go to your local farm supplies store and they are a dollar per gallon.
it was almost 20 years ago that my parents got the cow tank but I think the prices are still the same.
