My grandpa had me save some little one inch catfish guys from the local pond.  The little guys have grow to about five inches in about one year.  They are so fun to watch.  They cant be trusted with small fish.  The only fish in with them are 3 goldfish, and one mystery cichalid guy, and a crayfish.

My tanks: 20 gallon 5 guppies, 5 platies, 1 cave tetras, 6 black neons. 20 gallon tall: 4 dwarf puffers, 2 bettas, 3 glofish, 2 kisser gourami, 3 cories, 2 honey gold gourami, 1 oto, 1 clown loach.  20 gallon tall:1 cichalid, 5 bluegill.

Bullheads are cool fish, too bad they get so big and eat their tankmates.

Agreed. A few months back I handled a question from someone who wrote into Wet Web Media asking why their goldfish was looking battered and nervous. They thought it was sick. It was living with an Ameiurus catfish of some sort. Scroll about a third of the way down this page to see, as Bob put it, the "muggee" and the "mugger".

They only get to be about 8 inches.  That may be big by aquarium standards but thats kinda small by fishermen standards.  They do seem to be aggressive when eating but are nice other times.

The 3 goldfish died from abuse.  The catfish just wouldnt stop.  My grampa wanted me to get an anatomical model for his carving.  So I caught him a bluegill about 7 or 8 inches long.  He had to seperate the fish because the 4 or 5 inch catfish were attacking him!  The cichalid dude is in mint condition.
