I have been shopping for a UV sterilizer for my aquarium and had come across Aqua Top which offers a LARGE variety of UV products... Including Canister Filters with built in UV bulbs... And they are replaceable... As well they have Hang On Backs with UV... In Line UV....

So is anyone familiar with the quality of Aqua Top products?

I actually use it in my business to clear tanks of green water. It has it's own circulation pump, which allows me to use it in one tank until it's clear, remove and disinfect it, and then it's ready for another clients tank.

AHHA! That brings up the next question... Ho do you go about sterilizing and moving from tank to tank.... i was thinking Hot water... A little bleach... Lots of salt in a 5 gal bucket... Drop it in and let it run...? and then rinse..

I ask because I want to do the same thing.... I have 8 aquariums... More concerned about 7 of them... The one is only 2 gals... Im doubting the unit will fit ...

I've tested some of their products for my monthly column "In The Fish Room" in Aquarium Fish International (AFI), and they have all been excellent. Right now I'm filtering my 300 gallon planted show tank with two of their large canister filters that have UVs in them. I really like that you can turn the UV on/off independent of the filter. Good stuff.

I run the pump with the UV connected but not turned on in a solution of 50/50 water bleach for about 10-15 mins, then in plain water for 30 mins. then leave it to dry.

THAT IS GOOD STUFF!!! I like the idea of being able to turn the UV light on/off independently... It saves on electricity and UV bulbs ($$$$)... And the price range of these filters are REAL cheap...

Any idea how easy it may or may not be to get replacement media?

Thanks for the input Dave... Like you said... good stuff! I like what I have heard so far.
