mine are rather different i keep 8 in my 110 gallon with a good variety.
Some things my Archers do is eat food off the bottom apparently they ignore any food that falls onto the bottom not mine!!
They copy any fish in the aquarium they study what they do what they eat etc and copy that.
Never any aggression among the group!
Never shy always gets excited to see anyone enter the room.
Tend to eat my plants sometimes. :S
Babied the smaller ones when i put them in i thought i might have had to split them up for awhile.
I can't think of all the others right now but i have found that these fish are very smart!.

Archers are sometimes unpredictable fish. Bullying is not uncommon, so keep an eye on them.

They will eat at all levels, including the bottom, and supposedly use their jet of water to push sand away, exposing prey. Never seen that myself.

One way to get them spitting is to lower the water level (e.g., when doing a water change) but leave the filter running. Then stick bits of prawn at the waterline. The archers will see them and eat them. Add new bits of prawn, each a little bit higher up the glass. The archers will jump at them. Eventually the prawn chunks will be so high up the glass the archers will spit instead of jump.

This is a good way to watch archers spitting without having to keep your aquarium half-empty all the time. If you do it gently, emptying the water from the tank doesn't bother them - they just think it's the tide going out!

Cheers, Neale

I have made a happy home for my archers i fill my 110 till its 3 inches from the top than i gabbed some waterproof vines from work and that is what i put crickets on for them i see them use their jet (spitting) for many things especially when they are very curious about something. i do watch for aggression or bullying among the group a lot during the day and that one thing i can say is they are very messy but i do stay on top of my water changes with these guys i did my homework so i knew what i was getting into. so far my favorite fish and i say great for any aquarium. i see them bullying eachother in the stores but at the store they don't have a place to go un stress every now and than one of mine leave the group and go to his/her own corner for a bit than goes back to the group if one tries to school up there thats the only time one chases the other but it never lasts long and as i have added more broad leafed plants i havent seen one chase another in a couple of weeks but saying so now its going to happen.
