| I see coral frags for sale on Craigslist all the time. Have any of you ever done this before? Have good or bad experiences? What were your experiences like?

As long as you are dealing with a local person, I think you should be fine. I have found some really good deals on Craigslist. Much better then the local fish stores. I purchase with caution though.
I ran across this list of Fish Stores and though you might want to check them out before you take the leap of faith and buy something off craigslist.
Good luck

The Best coral I ever bought was from a craigslist add. A gorgeous elegance coral that would have cost twice as much and not nearly as healthy. But i saw it in person. But when i got it to my tank it was so much nicer after it relaxed.
This all started with a free tank for my daughter.

I've never bought live organisms off craig's list. But just fyi, your local pets store probably sells frags really cheap (you get to look at them first and you don't have to worry about shipping). I know PetCo will give you frags (coral pieces that break off during transport) if you just give them a few dollars in donations. The store closest to me sells out of their frags pretty quickly after getting them in. So I now know what day of the week they get aquatic deliveries and I always check them out the next day if I'm looking for a certain coral frag.
