I was going to say the same thing as Mr. Noble - try to get as much root as possible - both to help keep the plant alive, and to reduce the amount of root that would be left to rot.

36g Bow Front - Horn Wort, Hygro Difformis, Hygro Polysperma, Giant Hygro, Amazon Sword, Melon Sword, Java Fern, Moss Balls, Needle Leaf Java Fern, Java Moss, Christmas Moss, Lutea Crypt, Crypt Wendtii Brown, Crypt Wendtii Mi Oya, Chain Sword, Micro Sword (Regular and Narrow Leaf) - Angelfish (2) - 1 Marble Veil Tail, 1 Standard Silver Striped, Harlequin Rasbora (9), Clown Pleco (2), Mystery Snails (6) - 2 Gold, 1 Black, 3 Ivory. Just thought I would check in and see how the removal is going or has gone. Were you able to keep alot of the roots intact?
My mind always tells me I'm young.......yet every morning when I get out of bed.......my body proves I'm very very old!

Update. Ocelot Sword successfully removed with plenty of roots. Soaked in a bucket of tank water for a couple days and then transferred to a friends aquarium. I am loving the new look of my 50 and will post a picture this weekend
