| Hey, This may be a bit foolish but do all female dwarf gouramis have bland coloring? I just read that about neon gouramis. I have three flame gouramis, a couple that recently became really fat. I had the impression that I had a male with two females. My male was even spitting water at the top of my tank and there seemed to be the start of a bubble nest. But they all have a deep orange color. So, now I'm wondering if I was just seeing what I wanted to see. Any thoughts? Thanks, Mike

I'm now expert, but if memory serves me right. On males the dorsal fin and tail fins are very pointed, sometimes having a short pointed tip on them as well. The females dorsal and tail fins are not pointed, but rounded with no point what so ever. Once you've seen a male, and then a female. you'll always be able to tell, as supposedly it's the same with all Gourami's.
My mind always tells me I'm young.......yet every morning when I get out of bed.......my body proves I'm very very old!
