I'm in middle school and have to take a computers class. For our last project of the semester we had to imagine our own invention and do a Power Point on it. I created the Aquarium 2000. It talked about water changes, lighting, substrate, plants and feeding, and other fish/aquarium related things. By the time I was done presenting 5 minutes later (longest presentation in the class, thank you very much), everyone looked at me like I had 6 heads, including my teacher. Then I just started laughing. After that, everyone started asking me what all those terms I threw at them meant (like water changes, gravel vacuuming, undergravel filter, substrate, wpg, etc.) It dawned on me that hardly anyone in my generation enjoys fishkeeping as much as I do. I came in last place in our competition of course, but I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. The End

WOW!!! Good job. I wish I could have been there so I could see the looks on their faces. I haven't given a presentation in class, but every time I start talking about fish around my friends they start looking at me like I'm crazy.

Thanks! When I told my teacher about the project in the beginning so she could approve it, she looked pretty skeptical, but it was a TON of fun. Thanks for your support!

Good Job! Way to go! Your friends and classmates just learned something about you too, and that is you have an interest in fishkeeping. Just another way to get others interested in the hobby.
My mind always tells me I'm young.......yet every morning when I get out of bed.......my body proves I'm very very old!

Congratulations it is so nice to hear young people with a strong passion for the hobby or as I like to refer to it "the fish keeping lifestyle". It's great to hear that you had fun and that other people young and old are showing interest because of you and your passion for what you love to do. A big standing ovation from the entire forum, this is how we get new people into it.
I will not buy fish this time, I will not buy fish this time, I willnt buy fish this time, I willt buy fish this time, I WILL BUY FISH THIS TIME. Sometimes my addiction gets the best of me... did I say sometimes
