| My tank has been up for over 2 years and I haven't made any changes to the setup. But after the last few water changes it's getting cloudy for a day or two but it never did that before. Any idea why the change when I am doing everything the same as always. 9 Pristellas, 3 Neons, 1 Betta, 1 Oto, Hornwort, Lutea and Mopani wood.

| Sorry guys i was in a hurry. I have a 20gal and i was doing a 25% water change with some gravel vacumming with a standard siphon hose. I do this every 1.5 to 2 weeks. The cloudiness is new but my procedure isnt new. The fish dont seem to be bothered by it though.

I'd probably recommend upping the water changes to once a week.
Does the cloudiness disappear entirely between changes or is it constantly cloudy?
Is the tank near a window?

| No where near a window and the water is clear in about 2 days after the change and stays that way till the next time.

Have you tested your tap water lately they may have started a new process. Also do you make up your water at the time of the change or do you make it up in advance?

I've had that on and off over the years. I read one forum that said it can be caused by differences in temperature between the water being added and the water in the tank....and it was only when the water being added was colder (or the opposite). I don't necessarily believe it but I did start adding an air pump for the 24 to 48 hours following my weekly water changes. Seems to do the trick.
