| Yes it's the highest on the chart. Im using the drops unless there is something wrong with them.. when i do the water testing it shows up the darkest green on the chart which i believe is an 8. But to my surprise my one fish is still alive... i had the tank cycling for 2 weeks now it was cloudy now it got better. Dont know if i should do a water change or not....

| I did a 25% water change last weekend, rinsed the sponge filter. It had brown dirt on it. Is that suppose to be normal? Tested the water today again, my ammonia was at 4, my pH 6.9 and nitrite and nitrate 0. I still can't seem to get the ammonia down. I put in Ammonia lock and Prime and still nothing. I have one fish in my tank and surprised it's still living. I started my tank in January and haven't been able to enjoy it cause have been getting the ammonia problem from day one. Don't know what else to do.

stop using the ammonia lock, it will prevent proper establishment of your good bacteria.
The brown stuff is normal, you should be rinsing it at least once a month, i do mine bi-weekly, in old tank water.
However, you say you have one fish, with only one fish you shouldn't see alot of the brown stuff. if you are, you are over feeding which could be what's causing your ammonia problems.
