I was considering a wild caught discus...its very pretty..

But my water has a higher pH, and I haven't had any success in getting it down..

However, my current Discus seem to be doing very well in the higher pH.  And I hate to make any major changes to my pH since everything seems to be doing well and they are sensitive fish.

My question is though, in purchasing a wild caught discus, will it be able to adjust to a higher pH ?

Thank you,

I've been doing some readings and I've found that wild discus tend to be more hardy than bred discus?

Is this true?

I have heard the exact opposite, that wild discus are very hard to keep.

You may be able to acclimate it to your tank with a drip method. it will take some time, but may work.

The wild are very hard to keep healthy. you have to stay on top of things. I moved my tank from one room to another and lost three of them. But over a very long time you can raise the ph up to 7.6 with harming the fish to a degree. I think the GH and KH are the main ones to worry about.
