All fish breath air, just in a different way..if not they would expire...hmmmm have to look at the next dead fish I see and turn it over and check it's expiry date

Shakespere says...to be or not to be?

Fish hobbiests say....To buy or not to buy!

Are you asking about fish with a lung-like labyrinth organ such as the Betta and Dwarf Gourami that allows them to take oxygen directly from above the water’s surface? Check out anabantoids on this site if this is what you are looking for. Or are you asking about fish that live most of their lives out of water like the Mudskipper? Mudskippers live nearly 90% of their lives on land but they are true fish. If that is what you want, check out the April issue of AFI magazine and also the video section of the FishChannel.com site (Aquarist Notebook section) for more information.

I forgot to mention Corys. Every now and then, they bolt to the surface to grab a gulp of air.
