Hi, I have a 5 gallon MiniBow tank with 3 otto cats and 1 apple snail.
There is a built in hood lamp.
They have superb aeration and filtration and get frequent water changes.
Recently, I was wondering if I should acquire some aquatic plant life.
I know the ottos and snail would love a healthy dose of algae, the only question is what type of plant? Since my tank isn't too big I was hoping for a small-easy to care for plant.
Any input would be appreciated!

| Java fern is very easy. Also cryptocoryne wendtii and/or anubias nana. These plants don't need the high lighting that other plants need and won't grow so fast as to out-grow the small tank.

I bought a moss ball and it's been in the tank for a few weeks but doesn't seem to have grown or produce algae...
I bought a java fern yesterday and briefly placed it in the tank but got scared of a possible snail outbreak and quarantined it.
I have 3 oto cats and want more algae for them besides algae wafers and veggies.

I bought some algae for my fishes ,as I had five catfish and two hatchet fish in my aquarium. I frequently change water for them.In last two weeks two of my catfish died. I don't understand.Can someone help me?
